What is the meaning of an accreditation of the Hygiene Inspection Body for Water Systems?
The Hygiene Inspection Body for Water Systems carries an DIN EN ISO / IEC 17020:2012 accreditaton Type A since 2004. This means that the German Accreditation Body (Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle GmbH DAkkS) has confirmed the expertise and competency of the Hygiene Inspection Body for Water Systems. This Accreditation applies globally.
There are 3 types of DIN EN ISO / IEC 17020:2012 accreditation: Type A, B and C. Type A has the highest level of Independence and Type C the lowest. For example, a DIN EN ISO/IEC 17020 Type A Inspection Body will ensure and assure that the organisation are not engaged in the operation, maintenance, sampling, testing or control of the in-premise water system or any activities that may conflict with their independence of judgment and integrity in relation to their inspection activities.
